Chandigarh: The Punjab Government will organize a special “Online Milni” for overseas Punjabis on May 13. During the event, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh will interact directly with Punjabis living abroad and listen to their grievances and concerns.
Officials said that necessary instructions will be issued to the concerned departments to ensure timely resolution of complaints raised by NRIs. Problems faced by overseas Punjabis will be addressed through email and video conferencing facilities.
The state government has been regularly organizing the ‘NRI Milni’ program to resolve issues related to Non-Resident Punjabis. The initiative was launched in December 2022, when the first NRI Milni events were held in five districts, including Jalandhar, Mohali, Ludhiana, Moga, and Amritsar.
Later, in February 2024, similar programs were conducted in districts such as Pathankot, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Ferozepur, and Sangrur.
The Punjab Government has now decided to streamline the process further by organizing NRI Milni events twice every month from May 2026 onwards. One meeting will be conducted online, while the other will be held in person or at the divisional level.
