Amritsar: Customs officials at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport have arrested a passenger after recovering around 25.25 kilograms of suspected narcotic tablets concealed inside soft toys. The operation was carried out on the basis of APIU profiling.

According to officials, the accused arrived in Amritsar from Cambodia via Kuala Lumpur on flight MH-118. Acting on suspicion, customs officers stopped the passenger for detailed baggage screening. During X-ray scanning and physical inspection, officials discovered tablets hidden inside four soft toys. The toys had been specially modified to conceal packets containing the suspected drugs.

Authorities said the seized tablets are suspected to be Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), a banned psychotropic substance under the NDPS Act. The total recovered consignment weighed approximately 25.25 kilograms. The Customs Department has seized the contraband and arrested the passenger. Further investigation is underway to trace the international smuggling network and identify the complete route of the consignment.
