Pathankot Police Arrest 3 With US-Made Pistols Smuggled From Pakistan; Robbery Plan Exposed

Pathankot: Pathankot Police and the Special Branch team have arrested three youths travelling in a Swift car and recovered two pistols along with three live cartridges from their possession. Police have registered a case against four persons in connection with the matter.

According to preliminary interrogation, the accused were allegedly involved in target killing and extortion activities and were planning a robbery. Police officials said the recovered pistols were made in the USA and had reportedly been smuggled from Pakistan.

DSP (D) Vipin Kumar said police received a tip-off that Pankaj alias Jack, a resident of village Dalla Balim, Sham alias Baba of Model Town Kacche Quarters, and Saurabh of village Haibat Pindi were travelling from Pathankot towards Parmanand in a Swift car carrying illegal weapons and ammunition.

Police were also informed that the accused were involved in the buying and selling of illegal pistols and were waiting near Adda Kanwan for Nikhil Sharma alias Babla, a resident of Kanshi Badma, Narot Jaimal Singh.

Acting on the information, Taragarh SHO Devendra Kashni and Special Branch Pathankot in-charge Inspector Shohrat Mann rushed to Adda Kanwan, where they spotted the parked Swift car on the roadside. The police team then apprehended the youths sitting inside the vehicle and recovered the weapons during the operation.
