Chandigarh: Second Edition of Two-Day ‘Haryana Yuva Samvad’ Inaugurated in Haryana Vidhan Sabha The second edition of the two-day ‘Haryana Yuva Samvad’ was inaugurated on Friday at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. The programme is being organised with the cooperation of the Rajdhani Yuva Sansad organisation. Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Harvinder Kalyan inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. A total of 65 youth participants from 13 states across the country are taking part in the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Harvinder Kalyan said that India had endured a long and difficult period of slavery, during which attempts were made to harm its rich culture and values. Despite this, India today stands as the world’s largest democracy and continues to move steadily on the path of development. This, he said, is a testament to the strength of the Constitution and the unity of the people of the country. He added that the Constitution teaches us that the true strength of India lies in its citizens. The role of youth is extremely important in fulfilling Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s resolve to make India a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by the year 2047.

He said that India is a land of diversity, with different languages, traditions and cultures, yet there is one common objective among all—development of the nation and the state. While the languages spoken in various Legislative Assemblies across the country may differ, the aim of all public representatives remains the same: to frame effective and welfare-oriented policies for every section of society. Addressing public grievances and meeting the needs of the people, he said, is the true essence of democracy.

The Speaker told the youth that they were sitting in the same Vidhan Sabha building from where many eminent legislators and leaders have played a significant role in law-making and the overall development of Haryana. He expressed hope that the youth present would, in the future, become public representatives, carry forward democratic traditions, and contribute positively and meaningfully to the proceedings of the House.

He said that diversity of opinions is natural in a democracy, but youth must move forward with positive thinking and focus on solutions so that society and the nation can be given a new direction. Emphasising the importance of women’s empowerment for national progress, he said that social, political and economic empowerment of women is essential. With this objective, a historic Bill providing 33 per cent reservation for women has been passed.

During the programme, MLA Smt. Pooja Chaudhary, Advisor to the Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Ram Narayan Yadav, co-founder of Haryana Yuva Samvad Shri Jai Saini, and Smt. Isha Kapoor also addressed the youth. In the second phase of the programme, a Question Hour was organised, followed by special sessions with detailed discussions on sustainable development, industrial expansion, environmental protection, balanced use of natural resources, and the Haryana Industrial Policy–2025.
