Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday received a telephone call from US Vice President J.D. Vance during which the two leaders reviewed the progress of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across key areas.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi and Vance noted the sustained momentum in high-level engagements between the two countries and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, defence, critical and emerging technologies, energy security and critical minerals.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Received a phone call from US Vice President JD Vance. We discussed ways to further deepen India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership across key areas. Warmly congratulated him and the Second Lady on the birth of their son and conveyed best wishes to the entire family.”
The conversation comes amid renewed efforts by India and the US to advance cooperation in trade and defence.
