Chandigarh: Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij sharply criticized Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for invoking terms like “hydrogen bomb” in political discourse, calling the language highly irresponsible and detrimental to national interest.

Addressing reporters, Vij said the opposition has every right to hold press conferences and question policy, but resorting to expressions such as “hydrogen bomb” or “atom bomb” risks creating fear and confusion among citizens. He added that such vocabulary is “completely inappropriate” in the national context and urged restraint in public communication.

Vij argued that instead of sensational rhetoric, Gandhi should present concrete evidence to substantiate allegations, asserting that “negativity has so overwhelmed Rahul Gandhi that even his vocabulary has turned negative.” According to Vij, constructive language and proof-based arguments serve the public far better than hyperbolic comparisons.

Reiterating his stance on his official X handle, Vij accused Gandhi of using phrases that “hurt the country,” suggesting that if intentions were constructive, more responsible wording could have been chosen.

The remarks came after Gandhi said at a press briefing that revelations on alleged “vote theft” would be akin to a “hydrogen bomb,” adding that the disclosure would surpass his earlier “atom bomb” analogy. Gandhi had previously indicated on August 7 and September 11 that his party would soon release “dynamic, explosive proof” related to the claims.
