Mumbai; The Rupee on Wednesday appreciated by 12 paise at 85.48 in the opening session on weak demand for the US dollar by bankers and importers, amid strong capital inflow, forex traders said. The Indian rupee opened 9 paise up today at 85.51 against the US dollar. After the US and China agreed to a preliminary plan to ease trade tensions, trade was added. On Monday, the rupee closed at 85.60 against the USD. The partially convertible rupee recorded intra-day highs and lows at 85.45 and 85.53, respectively, dealers added.
