Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Central Government, accusing it of misusing law enforcement agencies to silence voices that speak the truth.
Addressing the media, Mann said, “In today’s India, whoever speaks the truth faces an FIR.” He strongly criticized the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders like Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and Sanjay Singh, questioning the basis of their imprisonment.
“What was Kejriwal’s fault? What was the crime of Sisodia, Jain, and Sanjay Singh? Their only crime is that they worked for the people of Delhi. The BJP Government, instead of appreciating their service, continuously obstructed their work and eventually pushed them behind bars through false cases,” Mann said.
Referring to the FIR filed by Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa that included names of Punjab ministers Aman Arora and Harpal Cheema, Mann remarked that even journalists are asking whether his and Kejriwal’s names will be added too.
"Go ahead and add my name as well. I have no problem. We will face arrests, we will go to jail if needed, but we will continue to stand with the truth,” he declared.
