Chandigarh: Padma Shri Awardee and renowned Hazuri Raagi, Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji (Srinagar Wale), was felicitated by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, during a special meeting held at Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh.
Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji, recently conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri by the Hon’ble President of India for his outstanding contribution to the spiritual and musical tradition of Gurbani Kirtan, received warm congratulations from Governor Kataria.
The Governor praised Bhai Sahib’s unwavering dedication to the sacred Gurbani Kirtan, describing the award as a well-deserved recognition of his lifelong service to Sikh devotional music. “Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji’s mellifluous voice and spiritual depth have touched hearts across the world, inspiring millions to connect with the timeless values enshrined in Sikhism,” he remarked.
He further stated that Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji has become a beacon of devotion and tradition, whose soulful renditions continue to resonate in Gurdwaras globally, fostering peace, spirituality, and cultural harmony. “His recognition is not only a moment of pride for Punjab but also a celebration for the entire Indian spiritual music community,” the Governor added.
On this occasion, the Hon’ble Governor also released a pictorial brochure titled "The Spiritual Journey of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib", authored by Punjab State Information Commissioner Harpreet Sandhu. The publication encapsulates the spiritually uplifting teachings and legacy of the Ninth Sikh Guru Sahib.
