Jeevan Singh Thakur elected president of Headmasters & Principals Association, Mandi district

HAMIRPUR: The biennial elections (2026–2028) of the Himachal Pradesh Headmasters and Principals Cadre Association, Mandi district, were held on Sunday at Hotel Aashiana Regency near Dhanotu in Sundernagar. The meeting began with former treasurer Yogesh Kumar presenting the income and expenditure report for 2022–2025, which was unanimously approved by the House. Following this, outgoing district president Naresh Mahajan, general secretary Mamta Chaudhary, treasurer Yogesh Kumar, joint treasurer Nanak Chand and headmaster Gopal honoured five retired principals and three retired headmasters along with their families.


After dissolving the 2022–2025 district executive, outgoing president Mahajan requested the election observers from Kullu to conduct the new district elections. Senior vice president of Kullu district Sher Singh and district general secretary of Kullu Rajesh Bauddh served as observers for the process.

In the election, Headmaster of Government High School Thwari, Jeevan Singh Thakur, was unanimously elected District President. Headmaster of Government High School Kheel, Roop Singh Kataria, was elected District General Secretary, while Headmaster of Government High School Naun, Inder Singh, was unanimously elected Treasurer. Around 60 headmasters and principals from across the district participated in the election, which concluded successfully.
