NEW DELHI; Delhi and adjoining areas of the National Capital Region (NCR) are likely to witness cloudy skies and intermittent rainfall on Wednesday, providing some respite from humid weather conditions. According to weather forecasts, the national capital is expected to record a minimum temperature of around 29 degrees Celsius and a maximum of nearly 36 degrees Celsius.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast generally cloudy skies with light rain or drizzle in Delhi. Rainfall activity is likely to continue over the next few days and may persist in the city until August 17.
NCR cities, including Noida and Ghaziabad, may receive heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Faridabad and Gurugram are also likely to experience rainfall, with overcast conditions expected to prevail for much of the day.
Delhi is likely to receive moderate rain during the afternoon, evening and night. Winds are expected to remain light, averaging around 1.67 kmph, with occasional gusts reaching up to 5.28 kmph. The wind direction is likely to remain predominantly northwesterly.
Sunrise in the national capital is expected at 5:48 a.m., while sunset is likely at 7:03 p.m. Meanwhile, monsoon activity remains vigorous across several parts of the country. The IMD has forecast active monsoon conditions over Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, with enhanced rainfall likely across northern, western and central India.
Very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in East Rajasthan, while heavy showers are expected in parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, western Uttar Pradesh, western Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Odisha.
Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan and northeastern states, including Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Nagaland.
