Chitkara University, Punjab Hosts the Groundbreaking CBSE Exposure Visit in Collaboration with CBSE for Educational Innovation and Excellence

Chandigarh : Chitkara University, Punjab, had the distinguished honour of hosting the comprehensive and illuminating "CBSE Exposure Visit" in close collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on the 22nd and 23rd of August 2024. This two-day event was an exceptional opportunity for attendees to engage deeply with educational innovations, explore best practices, and gain valuable insights into the evolving landscape of school education. The visit not only fostered a rich exchange of knowledge but also reinforced Chitkara University's commitment to advancing academic excellence and contributing meaningfully to the national education discourse.

 

Mr Rajiv Sharma, Under Secretary at the Centre of Excellence, Chandigarh (CBSE), graced the prestigious event as the Guest of Honour. In his address, Mr Sharma underscored the need for schools to expand their vision and stay attuned to the evolving landscape of higher education. He pointed out that CBSE is undergoing transformative changes, evolving from a traditional examination body into a comprehensive organisation with diverse verticals, including academic units, skill development programs, and training centres across India. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of CBSE to Chitkara University for once again partnering to organise the CBSE Exposure Visit. He praised the university's diverse programs and urged school principals to engage actively in learning, sharing, and networking opportunities to help bridge the gap between school education and higher education.

 

The event opened with a compelling keynote address by Dr Madhu Chitkara, Honourable Pro Chancellor of Chitkara University, who eloquently articulated the university's vision and commitment to educational excellence. Following her address, Dr Sandhir Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Chitkara University, Punjab, provided a comprehensive overview of the university's innovative initiatives and academic strengths. Their insightful presentations set a dynamic tone for the event, underscoring Chitkara University's leadership in driving transformative education and shaping the future of learning.

 

Expanding on the university's forward-thinking approach, Mr. Sanjeev Sahni, Vice President, of the Office of International Affairs, underscored how Chitkara University is actively pioneering innovative methods in collaborative teaching and blended learning. He highlighted the seamless progression across sessions already in place, which ensures that students experience a cohesive and adaptive educational journey.

 

Following the transnational academic expedition, attendees were treated to an insightful university tour led by Team Chitkara University. This tour offered a comprehensive view of the university’s cutting-edge facilities, advanced learning environments, and the vibrant campus life that defines Chitkara. Participants had the opportunity to experience firsthand the innovative infrastructure that underpins the university’s commitment to providing a world-class education and nurturing a culture of excellence and continuous growth.

The first day concluded with impactful closing remarks delivered by Dr Sangeeta Pant, Dean of the Department of Education at Chitkara University. Her reflections provided a thoughtful summary of the day's discussions, reinforcing the key themes and insights while setting a positive tone for the continued exploration of educational innovations and collaborative opportunities.

 

Day 2 of the CBSE Exposure Visit continued the momentum of insightful exploration and learning. The day featured sessions focused on upscaling skill education in alignment with NEP 2020. Dr Parul Sood, Assistant Dean of Academics in the Department of Education, led a session on integrating skill education within the framework of NEP 2020. This was followed by Dr Rashmi Aggarwal, Dean of Chitkara Business School, who addressed multidisciplinary skilling through the National Credit Framework and the implementation of NEP 2020 mandates.

 

Following these in-depth sessions, Dr Komal Chawla, Dean of Chitkara School of Psychology and Counselling, led a comprehensive session on the psycho-pedagogical bridge. This enlightening session delved into the integration of psychological principles with educational strategies, highlighting how a nuanced understanding of psychological dynamics can significantly enhance pedagogical practices and improve student outcomes.

 

Following these sessions, the Office of Student Affairs organised a vibrant cultural programme. This engaging event showcased the diverse talents and creative expressions of students, offering a delightful interlude that celebrated the rich cultural fabric of the university community.

 

Following the lively cultural kaleidoscope, insightful interactions took place during a session led by Dr Vani Parvez, Assistant Dean of Outreach in the Department of Education and Chitkara School of Psychology and Counselling. This session focused on peer feedback, providing a valuable platform for participants to exchange perspectives and reflect on the day's experiences. Dr Parvez facilitated a meaningful dialogue that encouraged constructive feedback and collaborative learning, further enriching the overall event experience.

 

To conclude this two-day extravaganza, Dr Sangeeta Pant, Dean of the Department of Education, delivered the final vote of thanks. Her formal address expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organisers, acknowledging their contributions and dedication that made the event a resounding success.
