Vivek High School’s Model United Nations Conference, 2022 Starts

Chandigarh: With an aim to discuss the prevailing global issues, the 7th edition of the Vivek High School Model United Nations Conference (VHS MUN 2022), being organized at the school's Sec 38 campus from 10th to 13th November, 2022, started here, today.


Chief guest Dr. Vijay Dev, former IAS, Chandigarh State Election Commissioner, who previously served as the Chief Secretary of Delhi & the Finance Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, congratulated the delegates through a recorded message and encouraged them with his inspiring speech.


On the inaugural day, delegates from across the region introduced themselves. Following the lighting of the lamp and the Chief Guest’s speech, Manasya Yudhakshetram dance was performed by the students of the school to portray the mind's battlefield, a battle between the good and the evil, present inside the mind of each individual.


The logo and theme of the VHS MUN 2022 were presented with honour and pride. A lively band performance by the students of the school added fervor and enthralled the audience at the conference. Following the introduction of the executive board, a melodious hip-hop medley left the audience spellbound.


“During the conference delegates from various schools across the region will touch upon some major issues in the world including the Russian invasion of Ukraine, protection of LGBTQI + refugees among others during thrilling simulations in a variety of committees,” said Ms. Renu Puri, Principal.


The student delegates are all enthusiastic about the conference, as they will get to explore various avenues At VHS MUN 2022. A student of Vivek High School while sharing her experience said, “Through this platform we will not only be able to explore our innate talent but will be able to carve a way towards a better and progressive tomorrow by discussing solutions to problems for the benefit of humanity.”
