Sheopur has to be freed from the stigma of malnutrition – CM Shri Chouhan

BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that development work should be completed in time-limit while ensuring quality. It is our moral duty to ensure that every eligible person should get the benefit of the schemes, the difficulties of the people should be removed and their life made easier. We have got an opportunity to serve the public through the administration. Let us fulfill our duties with honesty in mission mode. With this the state will move on the path of progress. Wishing all on the third day of Navratri, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan reviewed Sheopur district at 7 am. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan prayed to Devi Maa to shower her blessings and grace for development and welfare.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan congratulated the district administration for better management of the program organized in Sheopur district on September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Modi. In-charge of Sheopur and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture and Food Processing Shri Bharat Singh Kushwaha, Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr. Rajesh Rajoura and other state level officers and Divisional Commissioners took part virtually in the meeting held at Chief Minister’s residence office.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we have to free Sheopur from the stigma of malnutrition. Sheopur is a backward and poverty-stricken district, there is also a large number of migration from here. It is the top priority of the state government to ensure that there is effective implementation of welfare schemes for the poor in the district, there is no disturbance in ration distribution and to give good governance to the people. Special activities should be conducted in the district to make people aware about public welfare schemes. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan reviewed various developmental activities, public welfare schemes and law and order situation in Sheopur.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was informed that 211 camps are to be organized in the district under the Mukhya Mantri Janseva Abhiyan. Till now 10 thousand 500 applications have been received. District administration teams are going door to door and taking applications of eligible beneficiaries and solving them on the spot. So far Ayushman cards of 7 thousand 200 persons have been made in the campaign. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan instructed the Minister-in-Charge Shri Kushwaha to keep constant vigil on the progress of the campaign.

While reviewing the distribution of ration, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that complaints have been received in some villages regarding opening of ration shops for only 5-6 days besides non-delivery of slips from kiosks. There are 300 complaints from Vijaypur and 23 from Karahal. He told to ensure that the poor get their share of ration. Strict action should be taken against those who meddle with the distribution of ration. No one will be spared for creating problems in the system of smooth ration distribution to the poor. Action must be taken against the culprits under the Black Marketing Act and other legal provisions. It was told that after registering an FIR against 11 persons, 4 arrests have been made.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that collectors will be responsible for poor work done in Jal Jeevan Mission. In the mission, quality of material, completion of work in time-limit and immediate restoration of dug roads should be ensured on priority. Joint teams of officers and public representatives should inspect the ongoing work in the mission. It was informed that work is going on in 210 schemes in the district, 77 have been completed, work is in progress in 78.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan expressed displeasure over the completion of only 32 percent work under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. It was informed that due to paucity of sand in the district, the construction of houses is getting delayed. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan instructed Chief Secretary Shri Bains to solve the problem of availability of sand. He said that efforts should be made to provide construction materials to the beneficiaries of housing scheme at affordable prices. In case of unreasonable demand of funds in housing schemes, 4 employees have been suspended and services of 2 have been terminated. Along with this an FIR has also been registered. Shri Chouhan said that the services of the employees who have demanded money and have been proven guilty, should be terminated with immediate effect.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Amrit Sarovar should be constructed as per the intention of Prime Minister Shri Modi. It was informed that 104 Amrit Sarovars have been identified in the district, out of which 52 have been completed, 17 will be completed in a week and the rest will be constructed by the end of October.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that ‘One District-One Product’ scheme should be considered a means of livelihood. This scheme is not just a ritual or confined to paper. It was told that cultivation, broadening and processing of Thai guava is being done under the scheme. The marketing of guava juice is being promoted under the name Kuno Nectar. Self-help groups associated with this activity have also started receiving orders in marriages and social events.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was informed that 57 thousand didis are working in Aajeevika Mission including 30 thousand in agriculture sector, 12 thousand in animal husbandry sector and 6 thousand 812 didis are engaged in activities related to minor forest produce. In order to increase the income, work is being done to process and sell turmeric and tomato along with guava. It was informed that a special campaign is being run to encourage natural farming in Sheopur, in which 700 farmers are engaged. Spraying of Jeevamrut has been started through drones.

Seeking information about cheetahs that have come to Kuno National Park, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that tourism activities will increase in Kuno area. Therefore, expansion of infrastructure is necessary. A long-term systematic plan should be made for the branding of Kuno National Park and providing necessary facilities. It was told that the district veterinarians are taking care of the cheetahs under the guidance of Namibian experts. The operation of the canteen has been started in the Kuno area by the Didi of a self-help group associated with the Aajeevika Mission.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that intensive work is needed at Anganwadi level to free Sheopur from the stigma of malnutrition. In the Adopt An Anganwadi campaign, active participation should be ensured in the operation of Anganwadis adopted by the officers and employees. Continuous monitoring of nutritional food delivery should be ensured. It was informed that all the 1226 Anganwadis of the district have been adopted under Adopt an Anganwadi. Hot food is being supplied through 529 self-help groups in the district. Special activities are being conducted in 70 panchayats most affected by malnutrition.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, while reviewing the power system, said that there should be a good relationship between farmers, consumers and the department. In view of the high demand for electricity at the time of next sowing, action plan should be prepared from now on. While ensuring the quality of continuous power supply, awareness campaign should also be conducted to deposit the electricity bill on time.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also reviewed the fertilizer supply, Atal Progress-way, preparations for Employment Day, Mukhya Mantri Bhu-Adhikar Yojana in the district. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Atal Progress Way will change the picture of Bhind, Morena and Sheopur districts. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed the Collector to hold monthly meetings with the banks and conduct effective and practical activities to connect the youth with employment and self-employment.

During the review of law and order, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the police should keep friendly behavior with the public. It was informed that revenue land worth Rs. one crore 55 lakh has been freed from mafia in the district. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed to develop Suraj Colony on the land that was freed from the mafia. It was told that while taking action against drugs, 94 cases have been registered in the last 6 months under NDPS Act. Information on action taken on Zilabadar, NSA proceedings and PFI activities was given.
