Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, for reducing the fuel prices and announcing a subsidy of Rs 200 to the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Scheme. The Chief Minister said that on one hand, when the world is surrounded by so many problems, this decision has been taken in the interest of the citizens of the country, especially the poor. Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal also expressed gratitude to the Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman for the same.

Significantly, on Saturday, the Central Government has announced to reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel. This will reduce the price of petrol by Rs 9.5 per litre and diesel by Rs 7 per litre. At the same time, a subsidy of Rs 200 per gas cylinder has also been announced to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Reacting to this decision, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that I urge to the governments of the States being ruled by Congress and other parties, who are playing politics on fuel prices to now reduce the fuel prices for the people of their state while taking advantage of this decision of the Central Government. He added that earlier when a similar decision was taken in November 2021, the non-BJP ruled state governments had deprived the people of their state of it.
