One-day awareness workshop on Demand Side Management Action Plan

SHIMLA: The Directorate of Energy, HP, the State Designated Agency, organized a one-day awareness workshop on Demand Side Management (DSM) Action Plan prepared under the "Capacity Building of DISCOMs" programme of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency here today.

 

While commencing the event, the Director, Energy Harikesh Meena said that this full-day workshop was aimed at raising awareness on the subject of Demand Side Management for Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) and how Himachal Pradesh should be treading forward in this regard so as to ensure effective and sustainable energy management and energy security in the state.

 

Amit Jain of Tata Power Trading Company Limited presented the overview of Demand Side Management for Himachal Pradesh and Sandeep Sharma of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited detailed the Demand Side Management Initiatives and case study of successful DSM initiatives in Delhi.

  1. Chandra Sekhara Reddy, CEO, Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission virtually attended the workshop and detailed about the Successful Demand Side Management Initiatives in Andhra Pradesh.

 

Manas Tiwari, Director, KPMG informed about the recent trends and changes in policy framework, Electricity Act Amendments, Effects on DSM Initiatives etc. while representative of Tata Power Trading Company Limited (TPTCL) discussed the Use Cases for Demand Side Management for Commercial and Industrial consumers via digital interventions.

 

Er. Pankaj Dadwal Managing Director, HPSEBL also spoke on the occasion.

Er. Manoj Chaudhary, Superintending Engineer, Directorate of Energy, HP summarized the session and delivered a vote of thanks.

Tata Power Trading Company Limited was appointed for technical facilitation of the full-day workshop.

Er. Manoj Upreti, Director Operations, HPSEBL, Er. Khem Singh Thakur, Chief Engineer, Directorate of Energy and the field officers of HPSEBL from across the state and 45 officers participated in the workshop.
