KU VC launched 15 online Distance Programs

Kurukshetra : Kurukshetra University Vice Chancellor, Prof Som Nath Sachdeva launched on Friday 2 undergraduate 2 postgraduate and 11 certificate and diploma programmes of the Directorate of Distance education KU which will be offered in the online mode. While the degree programmes are B.A, B.com., M.Com. and M.A. (Mass communication), the certificate and diploma level programmes are German, French, Japanese, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Internet of things, Block Chain Management, Cloud Computing and Full Stack Development.

 

Speaking on the occasion Prof Som Nath said, “The UGC allowed KU, being an autonomous institution under Category-I universities recognised by the Ministry of Education, to offer 4 degree courses in the online mode. We are also allowed to offer certificate and diploma level programmes. All these online programmes will help us in a big way in achieving 50 % GER goal by 2035. Moreover, they are in tune with NEP 2020 as students are now free to choose 40% online courses
which they can integrate with their offline degrees. KU has already implemented NEP in all its On-Campus UG programmes from 2022.”


Prof Manjula Chaudhary, Dean Academic Affairs said that KU established Distance Education Directorate way back in 1976 and it has served millions of satisfied distance learners by offering 40 offline programmes. The introduction of online programmes will make us reach candidates pan India and to the entire globe as well.


Prof Pardeep Kumar, Director, Distance Education briefed about the details of the online programmes and the facilities made available to the students. He said that from registration to depositing fee, exams, proctoring and declaration of results will all be done online. The learning shall be a mix of live learning and supplemented by finest quality course content, study guides, Practice tests, audio video material, discussion forums and recorded tutorials.


On this occasion, KU Registrar Dr Sanjeev Sharma, Dean Research Dr Pawan Sharma, Proctor Dr Sunil Dhingra, Chief Warden Women Dr Neelam Dhanda, DPR Dr. Brajesh Sawhney, Dr Rajinder Nath, Dr Rakesh, Dr Sanjeev Aggarwal, Dr SK Chahal, Dr. Anita Dua, Dr Aswani Kush, Dr Vivek Chawla, COEs Dr Hukam Singh and Dr Ankeshwer Prakash, Dr Jitender Jangra and representatives of technology partner in this online programme ‘Talentedge’ were present on the occasion.
