Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mohali organises Input distribution cum awareness programme for flood affected farmers of district

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) organized input distribution programme for the flood affected farmers of the district with financial assistance from flood affected fund of teaching and non-teaching associations of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana at Krishi Vigyan Kendra S A S Nagar (Mohali).


Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest. During his addresses he advised to farmers and farm women to adopt scientific dairy, fish, pig and poultry farming for better income and profitability. He emphasized on the integration of pig and fish farming for judicious utilization of resources and to enhance farm income.

Dr P.S. Brar, Director Extension Education appealed to farmers to take maximum benefit from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra for technologies related to livestock and allied sciences. Dr Harmeet Kaur, Dr Munish Sharma and Dr Komal interact with farmers and farm women regarding natural farming. This event was also graced by presence of S. Daljeet Singh, President of Non-teaching association of GADVASU and Dr. Prateek Singh Dhaliwal, representative of teaching association (GADVASUTA) of university.

During this event poultry chicks, poultry feed and shed mesh were distributed to flood affected farmers of district. Along with that woman farmers of self-help group were also provided sewing machines to start their self-employment under the project sponsored by Swaraj Engines Ltd. Dr Balbir Singh Khadda, Deputy Director (Training) thanked to all the guests and participating farmers and farm women for their active participation and making this program memorable.
