Haryana Chief Minister inaugurates two boosting stations of FMDA

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal inaugurated two water supply projects of Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) and dedicated them to the people of Faridabad on Sunday. Besides this, he also laid the foundation stone for beautification and infrastructure work of Dussehra Ground, Faridabad. He also lays foundation stone for repair work of road from Ankhir Chowk to Delhi Border.


“Besides ensuring adequate water supply, these projects of FMDA will provide better roads and basic amenities to the residents of the city. FMDA is working on various such projects for the development of Faridabad city”, said the Chief Minister.


On this occasion, Sh. Manohar Lal also inaugurated two boosting stations of FMDA. In this, FMDA has increased water supply by 60 MLD per day by installing rainy wells taken from HSVP. Setting up a boosting station at Fish Market in Sector-22 of NIT Faridabad in Ballabhgarh constituency will provide an additional supply of 40 lakh litres of clean drinking water to the residents of Sanjay Colony, East India Colony, Sector 22 and 23 of Faridabad. In addition, the boosting station at village Lakkarpur and Shiv Durga Vihar in Badkhal constituency will supply 20 lakh litres of water per day, which will provide great relief to the residents of Shiv Durga Vihar Colony and village Lakkarpur. FMDA's water supply pipelines for these projects have been connected to underground water tanks of Faridabad Municipal Corporation, as water in these tanks was not accessible earlier. Now water supply will be ensured in the surrounding areas as well, added the Chief Minister.


The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal also laid foundation stone of two projects in Infra-1 Division of FMDA. With an estimated area of 15.85 acres in the NIT area, the Dussehra Ground in the city is a popular venue for major religious and social gatherings. The FMDA will undertake the development including beautification and infrastructure work of Dussehra Ground for the citizens. The estimated cost of this project is Rs. 3.25 crore.


The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of special repair work of 8.5 kilometre Master Road from Ankhir Chowk to Delhi border, ensuring better road connectivity to the citizens of Faridabad. This work includes repair of road signage boards, repair of rain water drains, construction of footpaths and other road safety facilities. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 24.70 crore.


On this occasion, Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma MLA, Smt. Seema Trikha and other officials were present.
