Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health, Chandigarh clinches Overall Trophy (Women) Education in P.U. Annual Athletic Meet

Chandigarh : Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23 A, Chandigarh participated in 74th Panjab University Annual Athletic Meet held at P.U. sports grounds from 21st November to 23rd November 2022. Among various education colleges of P.U., Yoga College won 3 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze medals in various events.


In addition to it, the college also clinched overall Women Trophy and the Men’s finished in second place in the Athletics Education division. The team was prepared under the guidance of the sports in charge of the college Mr. Sumant Batish and Ms. Anupma Kaushal.

Parmita of PGDYT won Silver Medal in 800 mtr,
Anjali of PGDYT won Silver Medal in women’s Javelin throw,
Anjali of PGDYT won Silver Medal in women’s Discuss throw,
Sheetal of PGDYT won Silver Medal in women’s High Jump,
Karan of B.Ed. I won Silver Medal in men’s 200 mtr,
Team of Karan, Pardeep, Sachin, Raman from B.Ed. + PGDYT won Silver Medal in men’s 4x100 mtr Relay
Team of Suruchi, Taniya, Shivani, Anjali from B.Ed. + PGDYT won Silver Medal in women’s 4x100 mtr Relay
Karan of B.Ed. I won Bronze Medal in men’s 100mtr
Gourav of PGDYT won Bronze Medal in men’s Javelin throw
Raman of PGDYT won Bronze Medal in men’s 800 mtr
Jaspreet of PGDYT won Bronze Medal in women’s Discus throw
Stutee of PGDYT won Bronze Medal in women’s High Jump
Rahi Raina of PGDYT won Bronze Medal in men’s Long Jump

Earlier the Luddi (Traditional folk dance of Punjab) team comprising of the students Nishu, Nivedita, Himani , Swati, Monika, Charu, Alka, Suruchi, Divya, Heena of B.Ed (Yoga) and Parmita and Deepika of PGDYT won 2nd prize in Panjab University Zonal Youth Festival, 2022. The team was prepared under the guidance of cultural incharge of the college Ms. Rajwant Kaur. Apart from this Parmita won the individual second prize. All the medal winners, prize winners and the participants of both the events were felicitated by the principal of the college Dr. Sapna Nanda.
