Gender Sensitisation workshop organised at KU

Kurukshetra: Internal Complaints Committee, Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra organized one-day workshop on “Gender-Sensitization Through Education” on 10th February 2023 at Senate Hall, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Dr. Rajesh Gill, Advocate (Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana) was the keynote speaker and Mrs Renu Bhatia, Chairperson, Haryana State Commission for Women was the Chief Guest of the workshop. Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, Registrar, Kurukshetra University was the Chief Guest of the Valedictory Session of the workshop.

 

The Chairperson, Internal Complaints Committee, KuK Prof. Shuchismita presented the welcome speech. Dr. Rajesh Gill, the keynote speaker of the workshop highlighted the significance of gender sensitization and need to overcome the challenges given by technology driven cyber crime and constraints of taboos prevalent in society. Mrs Renu Bhatia emphasized the dire need of raising awareness about gender equality concerns in society at large. She acknowledged the endeavours of Kurukshetra University to have zero tolerance against sexual harassment of girls and women.

 

She mentioned that Kurukshetra University is going to be an inspiration for the rest of educational institutes of Haryana for having constituted fully organized ICC to ensure gender equality. The Vice Chancellor, KU, Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva gave the presidential remarks and encouraged the gender champions, research scholars and students to be fully confident and motivated to fulfil their duties in all possible forms.

 

Prof. Anil Vashisth, Dean Academic Affairs, Kurukshetra University was the special guest of the workshop. Registrar KU Prof. Sanjeev Sharma in his address emphasised the collective efforts of society and government in mitigating the evils of gender disparity.
