Tarn Taran: Charanjit, also known as Raju, a notorious shooter gangster, managed to escape from the Civil Hospital in Tarn Taran, accompanied by his accomplice, on Wednesday night.
This brazen escape has raised questions about the efficiency of the police administration. According to DSP Tarsem Masih, the gangster had been admitted to the hospital, presumably under police custody, following an encounter in December 2023. During that confrontation, Raju allegedly opened fire at the police, resulting in his being shot in the leg.
However, despite being under medical supervision, he managed to flee with the help of his associates. DSP Tarsem Masih further stated that the news of the escape has been disseminated to all police stations across the district. Raju, who is facing multiple criminal charges, remains a priority target for law enforcement.
The escape has prompted a rigorous search operation by the police to apprehend the fugitive gangster and his accomplices. Authorities have assured the public that they are committed to bringing Raju and his associates to justice swiftly.
