Ferozepur The Ferozepur police claimed to have arrested five persons, planning to commit dacoity.
Divulging with details, Randhir Kumar, SP informed that working on the in-put, a raid was conducted at the designated place equipped with arms illegal arms and ammunition making preparation to commit dacoity. The recovery of one illegal pistol .32 bore, two live cartridges, two swords, two kapas and a car Swift Dzire.
He said, all the five have been identified as Lalit urf Lali son of Jwala Prasad of Khatik Mandi Ferozepur Cantt, Lakhan son of Mangat, Shubham son of Mishri Lal both residents of Gawal Mandi Ferozepur Cantt, Ravi son of Sonu resident of Naurang Ke Syal Ferozepur and Mohit son of Harish resident of Canal Colony Ferozepur Cantt.
An FIR has been registered under number 81 on June 2, under IPC Sections 399 - Whoever makes any preparation for committing dacoity, shall be punished with rigorous punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall be liable to fine and 402 - Whoever at any time after passing of this Act, shall be one of five or more persons assembled for the purpose of committing dacoity, shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine, at PS Sadar Ferozepur and later on added under Section 25 Arms Act -Whoever uses any arms or ammunition in contravention of section 5 shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than three years but which may extend to seven years and shall also be liable to fine.
SP informed that these alleged arrested accused will be produced in the court to get police remand for further investigation with special focus on backward and forward history and any link with the crimes in the area.
