Every citizen should take pledge of cleanliness: Anurag Singh Thakur

Hamirpur:  Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Singh Thakur on Saturday said that every citizen should take a pledge to join the cleanliness campaign on Gandhi Jayanti.

“If common people will be aware of cleanliness then the whole country will become clean itself and we will be able to give a clean, healthy and strong society to the coming generations,” he said, adding that if our thinking towards cleanliness changes, then our society will also change.

Thakur said this while presiding over a program organized under the joint aegis of voluntary organization Disha Foundation, Prayas Sanstha, local city council, and other organizations in Sujanpur on Saturday.

Paying homage to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion, he urged the people to keep the drinking water sources clean.

Appreciating the work of Prayas Sanstha and Disha Foundation, Anurag Singh Thakur said that so far 6 lakh people have been provided medical facilities at their doorsteps through the MP Mobile Health Service launched through Prayas. Now, this health service has been expanded outside the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency as well. For this, 32 vehicles equipped with modern medical facilities are going from village to village to provide free tests, checkups, medicines, and treatment to the people.

The Union Minister asked the office bearers of Prayas Sanstha to connect other institutions as well so that more and more people can get the benefit of it.

Anurag Singh Thakur said that Sujanpur has great potential for sports activities. If the local residents unanimously prepare a proposal, then the infrastructure for sports will be developed here, so that the local youth can make their future in sports as well.

He said that after completing all the formalities of the Dhaulasidh Hydroelectric Project, its work has been started.

Anurag Singh Thakur informed that the transfer process of land for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sandhol has been completed. Efforts are being made to open Kendriya Vidyalaya in Sujanpur also.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has connected the common people with banking facilities by opening about 43 crore accounts. Now the funds of various welfare schemes are being deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

He said that during the Corona crisis, the Modi government has provided 5-5 kg ration per person free of cost to about 80 crore people for 15 months. Due to the strong leadership of Narendra Modi, the country has faced the Corona crisis very well. So far, about 90 crore anti-corona vaccines have been administered in the country. Himachal Pradesh has done a commendable job in anti-corona vaccination. For this, he congratulated the state government, all the doctors, and paramedical staff.

Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated the 25th Nandghar, developed under the joint aegis of Anil Agarwal Foundation and Mamta NGO, in village Miharpur of Gram Panchayat Darla.

This Nandghar is well equipped with modern child development facilities.

He also addressed the public meeting in the Panchayat premises. He said that all modern basic facilities would be provided to the Darla Panchayat under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.

Thakur also inaugurated the upgraded road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in village Mahjong Khas late in the evening at a cost of about one crore 31 lakh rupees.

About 4,000 people from 20 villages will benefit from this road.
