Develop Amrit Sarovars as Scenic Spots : CM Shri Chouhan

BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Amrit Sarovars being constructed in the state should be developed as scenic spots. Such an environment should be created around Amrit Sarovars, where the villagers can go for a walk and enjoy the experience. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing the Amrit Sarovars being built in every district of the state on the call of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at Mantralaya today. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Umakant Umrao and other senior officers were present.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that it is necessary to conserve rain water during Jalabhishek campaign, so that more and more rain water can be stored for future. This is the responsibility of all of us. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that the Amrit Sarovars being built in villages should be good quality, there should be no shortage of any kind, construction of ghats and plantation should also be done around them. He said that photos of ponds should also be uploaded on the portal of the department. The ponds should be used in a better way. He said that preparations should also be made for the launch of the constructed Sarovars.

Principal Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Umakant Umrao informed that the work of construction of Amrit Sarovars is being done at a fast pace with good quality in all the districts of the state. About 3 thousand ponds will be completed in the state before June 15.
