SAS Nagar:To get rid of the Zirakpur residents of the traffic logjams at Dhakoli Railway Crossing, the ongoing efforts of the district administration today bore fruit with the submission of a detailed project report to the Railway Authorities.
Briefing the details after holding a review meeting with the Railway Authorities, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) and Executive Officer Zirakpur MC Ravneet Singh at her office on Saturday, the deputy commissioner Ashika Jain expressed hope that the first condition of pre-tendering process has been met with the submission of DPR.
She added that the DPR submitted to the Railway Authorities now would be placed in MC General House Meeting by the EO to get it approved for the share of the the state/ urban local body.
The deputy commissioner further said that the proposed Railway under bridge at Dhakoli crossing is in need of the hour to remove the traffic bottlenecks on Kalka-Ambala T point at Zirakpur. She said that the DPR has pegged the estimated amount of the construction at Rs 13.70 Crore, of which the state has to bear a share of 50 percent.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the ADC (UD) and EO to complete the formalities related to general house as early as possible to reprieve the residents from the chronic problem of traffic jam on the Dhakoli crossing.
She also asked the Railway Authorities present in the meeting to expedite the process of DPR approval from their higher ups too so that the long lasting problem of the area to be resolved in a time bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that another Railway Under Bridge in Zirakpur's Baltana would also be throughed by approaching UT Authorities for sprucing up the land acquisition process. She said that the proposed RUB project meant for acquiring a tender stage is waiting for the Completion of acquisition process.
She aske the Additional Deputy Commissioner Damanjit Singh Mann, present in the meeting to get in touch with the UT Authorities to speed up the acquisition process to pave the way for the tender of RUB.
