Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Misrod would be developed into a smart city. Misrod is no longer a town, but has taken the shape of a city. Our aim is to make Misrod a smart city as well as improve its civic amenities, the CM added.

Along with this, free ration and pucca houses will be given to the poor through welfare schemes, the CM said, adding, “21,000 acres of land that we have snatched from the mafia by running bulldozers on it will be distributed among the poor.”

Chouhan was addressing a gathering during a road show in support of BJP mayoral candidate Malti Rai at Misrod in Govindpura Vidhan Sabha constituency on Saturday.

Chief Minister Chouhan along with MLA Krishna Gaur began the road show from Lord Shiva temple in Misrod and solicited blessings from the public passing through various places till Dental College.

The CM said, “If a Congress candidate wins, it will restrict development. We will do all the development work and will not allow a shortage of money. Only the BJP can work towards the benefit of the poor. The development work will be done only when the mayor and corporators are from the BJP.

“If people vote for the Congress candidate, they will backtrack whenever we will instruct them for development”, the CM said, adding, “Congress candidates do not have tuning with the BJP. It will lead to conflict and development will be affected in this fight.” During the roadshow, the CM solicited votes for party mayoral candidate Malti Rai and corporator candidate Sheela Patidar.
