According to historical records , Mughal ruler Babur’s general Mir Baq was instrumental in the establishment of a mosque at the site believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama in Ayodhya. The site is the former location of the Babri Masjid , which was Built in the 16th century . The idols of Rama and Sita were placed in the mosque in 1949 , before the mosque was attacked and demolished in 1992. The Ram Mandir holds immense cultural significance for Hindus worldwide .
It marks the birthplace of Lord Ram . After 70 year of hard struggles Again Ram Mandir build by the chief architect of the temple was Chandrakant Sompura assisted by his two sons, Nikhil Sompura and Ashish Sompura .
In 2019 in november a five judge bench of the supreme court ordered the disputed land to be handed over to a trust to build the Ram Janmabhoomi temple . The court also directed the government to give the Sunni Waqf Board five acres of land in another location to build a mosque .
In 2020 On august 5 , the foundation stone for the construction of the Ram Temple . was laid by prime minister Narendra Modi . He performed Bhoomi poojan and laid the foundation stone of the grand Ram temple .
In January 2024 : preparations are in full swing for the ayodhya Ram temple ‘pran patishtha ‘ ceremony on january 22. Prime minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Ram temple in ayodhya and will also be the chief guest of the event . According to many media estimates , the consecration cermony would be attended by more than lakh people gone to temple, including politicians , flims and other people . By building the Ram mandir again people started coming to ayodhya to visit the mandir .
